Popular Budapest Oriental fast-food specialists Padthai have just opened a new outlet in central Budapest. Offering mild and spicy wok dishes, this restaurant chain focused on Thai cuisine have been rapidly expanding in recent years – this new opening is their sixth branch in town.

Gone are the days when the gastronomic offerings around central Nyugati station were mostly defined by cheap meat. Developments of the neighbourhood have enticed an increasing number of more refined street-food spots to set up shop around this busy transport hub.

Padthai Wokbar, a Hungarian-owned Asian-food chain, is the most recent opening here, bringing their number of outlets in town to six. Wok-made dishes dominate the menu. Similarly to other Padthai places, you choose a base, noodles or rice, and a desired topping, either meat or vegetarian, with a variable price range. Sauces are free and include sweet-and-sour, green curry, teriyaki and the restaurant’s signature concoction, Thailand Padthai. Tom yum soup is also available, as well as desserts, Asian-style.

Looking ahead, the brand is further expanding with another outlet opening within the ÁRKÁD shopping mall found by another busy transit hub, Örs Vezér tere on the red M2 metro line.

Address: District VI. Teréz körút 62.
