Every Saturday, the ramshackle halls of ruin bar Élesztőház and its courtyard are transformed into a marketplace for tasty treats, cosmetics, even pet food, all free from animal products. Sweet pumpkin chutney, raw cakes, fruit and vegetables feature at this new weekly bazaar, a vegan alternative to the popular Pancs Gasztroplacc farmers’ market that takes place at the same location on Sundays.

Between 9am and 2pm on Saturdays, tucked-away craft-beer bar Élesztőház hosts a vegan market with live music and a community lunch. Bottles of chili salsa by tunki-tunki, granola by NYERS, Mamanna’s dried-fruit snacks and cold-pressed Grapoila oils all correlate with a fit and healthy lifestyle.

Customers conscious about the environment are offered washable SAKU bags to replace single-use plastics, and Cleanne detergents containing natural ingredients. Meanwhile, Vegapet is for those dogs and cats who swear by a vegan diet. Other stalls fill with colourful fruit and vegetables.

This Saturday, customers can sign up for a cheese-making workshop and a Turkish brunch, both vegan and both beginning at 10am.
