Budapest’s iconic Instant ruin pub – which occupied a splendidly surreal Nagymező Street locale for years – recently vacated its original site, where a boutique hotel will be likely be launched in the near future. However, Instant’s old papier mache owls and flying pigs did not rest for long, as they have moved to a new location, joining forces with Fogas Ház to create a huge party hub on Akácfa Street. Although the final concept is not yet fully polished, the major alterations were already made, and a new era started here on March 14th. See the changes seen so far in our photo gallery below.

We recently announced the big nightlife news about this pair of beloved downtown-Budapest clubs merging, but back then we could not yet imagine how the two party places would appear once they shared one rickety roof. Now that they are officially united and welcoming the public, we see that basically, Fogas Ház’s ruin-pub atmosphere was enhanced with the more surreal design that everybody loved at Instant. The huge party hub now provides parties every night of the week in downtown Pest, including nights fueled with acoustic concerts, fiercer broken beats, and classic hip-hop hits alike. At the moment, the party complex is made up of five establishments at one site: Instant, Fogas Ház, Liebling, LÄRM, and PONT, and the whole complex will soon be expanded with a 1,200-square-meters cellar rock club, and several other nooks to be discovered. Until then, in this photo essay we reveal what revelers can expect from the design of downtown Budapest’s new mega-nightspot.
