The 22 acrobats of Compagnie XY poke fun at gravity: they fly, flap, and float. Bodies are catapulted from springboards to create a human tower, twirling through the air and crossing each other in their flight. One wild rhythmic image follows another: tumultuous tussle, a graceful hanging pose, a 1920s Lindy Hop. Through a continual physical engagement and a vividly-communicated energy, Compagnie XY explores the concepts of crowds and solitude, carrying and being carried, being together, and of flying and falling. This English-friendly performance is also shown on Friday, January 6 at Trafó.
