Vintage Garden has more to do with pop-up- and design stores than the popular gathering places of art heads and hipsters, which are filled with (wannabe) retro couches that doesn't even fit into the interior design. It was a refreshing experience to step into this little flower-powered restaurant, where everything is in harmony with the other elements. It felt like Provance, but with the bistro culture of Paris.
The interior design is dominated by white wooden furniture and the already mentioned flower-power.
Elagabalus would surely recommend this place for everybody - the smell of lavender fills the air, and there are plans for a 'culinary herb corner', with here-grown basil, cardamom and so on. Romantic, but not cheesy - Vintage Garden is an ideal place for first dates as well as for special dinners.
Behind every charming and succesful bistro, there is a family business - in the case of Vintage Garden, it's the same family that is responsible for the vintage flower shop, Laura Virág. The small flower shop is literally the black hole of Király street: space-time continuum disappears and only you and the blooming beauties exist there. The special atmosphere of the flower shop is mixed with the vintage and shabby chic styles in Vintage Garden: you can sit down, feel yourself at home, there's no need to rush.
Because of the flower shop, the staff of Vintage Garden is an expert in weddings. According to the plans, you will be able to marry your loved one here - in the Provenceian way, of course. The soon-to-be-opened apartment above the bistro is big enough to host all your friends and guests and the menu is more than just salad, delicious cookies and lángos - special occasions call for special dishes, like duck legs with red cabbage or giant tiger prawn. But honestly, everything can happen in such an inspiring place!
We can't wait to enjoy the sunset with a freshly baked croissant in one hand and a latte in the other - a well-chosen book or a good friend, and you will also feel that your problems are far, far away.
