The Apple fans generally like the cool designs, customers always prefer friendly experts as shop assistants and everyone loves coffee in comfortable circumstances. We could keep on with this chain, but we're already quite close to the point, why was a brilliant idea to connect Apple, design and coffee to one place on Károly Avenue 22, which is called Kontakt. Their success story from the past three weeks proves that they hit the nail on the head, but this is only the beginning.

Birth of a genreDon't get this wrong: it is not just another geek shop, which opened, because Budapest saw the birth of a brand new genre. The new style is called Kontakt, which is owned by a married couple, and it contains everything important for them. The main idea behind Kontakt is that close connection can easily be created between an Illy cappuccino and the latest MacBook Pro. This connection shouldn't be physical though, so don't think about pouring your black drink to the shiningly white keyboard. But if you do, this is the place where they can help you find the best repair service. The connection should be rhetorical, so while you choose the proper second hand/brand new product, you can have a cup of coffee.

Maybe you may want another one, if you get lost in the labyrinth of details, special offers and technical aspects. You can ask for help when you want to find your way out, and if you're bored sitting in the design sofas, you may take a look around in the store and check out the creations made by almost 20 different Hungarian designers.

Vague dimensions, conscious designThey don't need more than three days to get your wanted product. So since you come again to collect your stuff, how about another coffee? This small place's interior (ruled by three colors: menta, drab and white) is balancing on the edge of an imaginary world and the reality with the installations made by Hungarian designers and the special furniture made out of paper are standing next to each other.

You can buy almost everything what you see in the shop - except for the test computer on the desk. By the way, that desk was designed by the owners, Péter Bajkó and Anna Bajkó. Most products in the store are connected to Apple, but you may find bags, pillows, clothes and furniture as well in stock.

Many as oneKontakt is definitely a multifunctional store. Besides the three main ideas, locals and foreigners are starting to rely on this place as a proved repair service point. The expression "it's broken, no response at all" is used here as often as the "yes, I would like cookies and foam as well". There's nothing wrong with that, because the guests and the future Kontakt community will make this place more and more diverse.
