The Night of Choirs
was first organized in 2013 by
Halastó Public Association
in the 8th district,
Józsefváros
, of Budapest. The district was echoing from
vocal music
, songs filled the squares, streets and buildings. The final song that was composed specifically for this occasion was sung by hundreds of
enthusiastic
voices, performers as well as the audience, on crowded
Mikszath
square, one of the most central squares of the city. The aim of the one-night-long concert series at the
Night of Choirs
is to show the
diversity
of vocal music and the great force in singing together by inviting choirs and performers from a wide range of musical genres, from
classical music to folk music, jazz, world music, and choir improvisation.
You can also experience how contemporary and traditional choir music can go hand in hand in the 21st century.




The Night of Choirs in 2014 has the focus of
inviting
different a capella formations combined with
flashmobs
. They are also creating a
„singing street”
in order to attract more and more audience who are open to
experience
the wonders of
choir

At the end of the festival , which will feature a wide range of a
