A special exhibition kicks off on April 29th at Budapest’s
Downtown Market
, supported by the
Hungarian Bocuse d’Or Academy
, and the Municipality of District V. Seven of the best gastro-photographers of the country –
Árpád Bakcsy
,
László Balkányi
,
Antonio Fekete
,
Imre Körmendi
,
Árpád Patyi
,
Árpád Pintér
, and
Péter Vulman
– showcase their photos amid an authentic market-hall setting, and this unique group exposition is on view through the end of May.
The restaurants on the gallery level await guests until 10pm on Friday; following the exhibit opening, the audience can sip on sparkling wine and devour fine bites, while
DJ Vasovski
and saxophonist
Péter Herold
provide mood music.
The Chef’s Street
is organizing a blind-tasting event of sparkling rosés, while the rest of the places tune in with exciting events and meals for the last Friday of the month.

The photographs on display showcase various ingredients, unique food presentations, artistic servings, and portraits of chefs, along with remarkable moments captured during fine-dining events, or a traditional
pig-slaughtering
day.

This is the first time in Hungary that images taken by contemporary gastro-photographers are grouped together for display. One of the most significant themes featured during the exhibition is the
Bocuse dOr cooking competition
– the most prestigious international gastronomy contest – with its European final taking place in
Budapest
this year. Visitors can view photos of the international final competition in Lyon, as well as a collection of shots demonstrating the Hungarian team’s recent achievements.
