"
Born to Wander
" is a one-time
English-speaking
collaborative theater
performance
of Roma and non-Roma artists that tells the story of the journey of Roma people from the north of Serbia who chose to travel through Hungary to Germany, which for years was their only way to escape poverty and discrimination, and to seek asylum in Berlin. For these people, this over 1,500-km-long journey, sometimes taken on foot, often meant leaving their families and homes behind in the hope of a better future. In "Born to Wander", their stories are told in the form of a sensationalist television show spiced with a hint of humor, self-criticism, and chaos.
