The event will be organized by
Szabad Tér Színház
on behalf of the capital’s government for the third time this year from November 21, 2015 to January 3, 2016 at
Városháza Park
which will become the light-garden of Budapest for this period of time. The curiosities of this
festival
are the spectacular public art installations: the giant Advent wreath, pine trees decorated by children and the biggest Christmas tree of
Budapest
.
This year along with the best handmade commodities, traditional rural gastronomy with a real
open-view kitchen
and musicians will be present at the
Christmas
fair at Városháza Park. To make the holiday season even more eventful the organizers offer many free programs for families beside the quality products and tasty food.

The organizers have set up a heated
Greenhouse
in the central part of the space where there will be programs during every day of the week. This is where – now traditionally – the best artists and groups and talented young people can introduce themselves. On weekday nights amateur tradition preserving groups, choirs, theater groups and music students will present their Christmas shows; on the four Advent weekends there will be events all day long. On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays puppet shows, story telling events, concerts for kids, arts and crafts and nativity plays await children while book launches, meet and greets and concerts await adults. In 2015 young bands will have the possibility to present themselves not just from the fields of jazz, classical and world music but from more popular, pop and crossover styles.
Santa Claus
will arrive this year again and every Sunday a candle on the city’s biggest Advent wreath will be lit during a ceremony.

The event with its intimate atmosphere will have several charity collections for families in need. This year, with the motto “children for children”, they will have programs where group of kids give shows and other donations as presents for disadvantaged children and children who live with disabilities.
