In the spirit of the original proposal of Géza Supka in 1927, at the annual convention of the Hungarian Publishers’ and Booksellers’ National Association, the Hungarian Publishers’ and Booksellers’ Association organizes the
Festive Book Week
for the 86th time this year, joined by the 14th Children’s Book Days. Just like in the past two decades, the organizers have invited the mayors of all major cities of the country to join this unique event of Hungarian literature and book publishing. As a result of the favorable responses, the
book week
will be held between June 4-8, 2015, at several locations in
Budapest
, at approximately 80 cities countrywide, and for the fifth time in Kolozsvár.

At the central location in Budapest,
Vörösmarty Square
and the connecting streets, more than two hundred Hungarian and foreign publishers will present and sell their books, in
147 pavilions
. The publishers timed the new release of nearly three and half hundred works of Hungarian writers for this year’s event. The
86th Festive Book Week
and the 14th Children’s Book Days will open at Vörösmarty Square on June 4th, at 16 o’clock in the afternoon, with the speech of József Attila Prize-winning writer
Mátyás Sárközi
, while the countrywide opening will take place in Győr, where József Attila Prize-winning writer György Dragomán will hold a speech at 11 o’clock.
