The third branch of Budapest’s popular Madal coffeehouse chain provides light-roasted java enthusiasts with a welcoming setting filled with earth tones, large tables, and sunshine, making this a perfect place to meet with friends, to work on your laptop, or just to relax for awhile when touring the neighborhood around Parliament.

Madal – operating with the motto “Good Coffee. Good Karma.” – used to be one of the pioneers of specialty cafés in Budapest. Their first unit, named after the childhood nickname of peace philosopher Sri Chinmoy, opened in the spring of 2013, quickly becoming a prominent venue in the city’s specialty-coffee subculture. After this first café became popular by spreading peace and poise on Hollán Ernő Street, Madal opened its second unit at Ferenciek Square. Now, we can visit their third shop near the Parliament on Alkotmány Street whenever we crave a light-roasted cup of java.

Madal’s third café is not only an additional unit to one of Budapest’s best-known specialty coffee chains, but also is the city’s largest such café to date. Here at Alkotmány Street 4, the style and atmosphere are calming, as wood surfaces and natural materials establish tranquility for guests along with relaxing background music, making this an ideal spot for caffeinated moments of peaceful introspection... or just to take it easy for a little while in between sightseeing stops.
