Beginning today, an eagerly anticipated eatery of superstar chef Jamie Oliver is now serving authentic Italian dishes in the middle of Buda’s most historic neighborhood. As the first Jamie’s Italian branch in Central Europe, opened in partnership with Budapest’s esteemed Zsidai Gastronomy Group, the management is striving to provide delicious and affordable food with friendly and welcoming service, specializing in dishes that people eat every day all over Italy, made with care and delivered without fuss.

Located in the heart of the city’s Buda Castle neighborhood, the Jamie’s Italian chain is the result of a shared dream between famed English chef Jamie Oliver and his Italian mentor, chef Gennaro Contaldo, with numerous locations already established across Great Britain. As the first Jamie’s Italian location in Central Europe, this restaurant enjoys much greater proximity to Italy and its globally prized foodstuffs – which came in handy when preparing for the opening of this new eatery, as finding suppliers took almost ten months to make sure there would be steady providers of the free-range and organic ingredients that meet Jamie Oliver’s high standards for creating dishes that are equally delicious and nutritious.“I’m super-excited to be bringing Jamie’s Italian to Hungary. Budapest is a beautiful old city with a thriving new restaurant scene, and I can’t wait to be a part of it,” says Oliver. “When we open the doors, we’ll be serving up simple, great-value Italian food, all made with the very best-quality ingredients we can get our hands on. I just know it’s going to be a brilliant addition to the ever-growing Jamie’s Italian family”.This new dining destination is the newest culinary jewel in the Zsidai Group’s collection of outstanding Budapest restaurants, including Pierrot, ÉS Bisztró, and the new Opera Café.
