Thanks to a creative promotion by Uber, those suffering from Budapest’s current heat wave can enjoy frosty treats delivered anywhere in the city – today only! From 11am to 5pm on July 24th, Uber is conducting a brilliant campaign to provide creamy confections to relieve the summer swelter in 254 Hungarian cities, including the capital.

All we have to do is switch the application’s regular interface to “ice cream mode”, so that we will see ice cream cones marked on the map instead of cars. Just as usual, we have to set where we are, and soon our favorite frozen confection is brought to our door, costing a rather reasonable 800 forints for three scoops; the cool delicacies are provided by FagyiFutár. Anyone who has not used Uber before and does not have the app downloaded gets an extra-cool deal – as new users, they can order two scoops of ice cream for free with the code ICECREAMBP. We just hope this promotion won’t cause a shortage of ice cream in the city this weekend!
