After the themes of Tokyo, New York, Paris and Candy Land, Eszter Horváth and her team of pastry chefs take sweet-tooths on a new adventure into the colourful world of clowns, entertainers and giant lollipops. They let their imaginations roam free, and using their childhood memories they created the most recent SUGAR! collection. Luckily this range also has sugar- lactose- and gluten-free pastries.

Ever since SUGAR!

joined Budapest's confectionaries, we're not surprised to hear they have a "new collection." Although we are not talking about a fashion brand, ever since this designer confectionery appeared, they have always introduced thematical collections of their pastries. This way SUGAR!
keeps its selection fresh and fun, while their pastry chefs are presented with new challenges and regular customers can always be assured

something new.

The contents of the package, that was the size of a hat box, that arrived at our office vanished in about 5 minutes - we were quick to try the new flavours. The new SUGAR! goodies bring the atmosphere of a travelling circus not only with their looks - the taste and smells evoked memories of our childhood and of visits to the circus. For example "Sugar! Eve" tasted like the smell of the stands that sell honeycomb and gum.

"Dodgem candy" reminded us of soap, with its shape and pink glittery colour, but its flavour is reminiscent of Bum-Bum ice-cream (which had a pink coating and gum hidden on the inside) - a favourite of anybody who grew up in the 90s.The most spectacular pastry is possibly the "Clown", which looks similar to an apple dipped in toffee. The Clown is a ball of Sicilian mascarpone-pistacchio mousse with a white chocolate coat and with sour cherry jelly. For us, the winners in taste were the "raspberry and chocolate pie" and "peanuts" that resemble mini eclair doughnuts with peanut. Those who are already SUGAR! fans will not be disappointed with the beautiful sweets, but for those who prefer grandma's classic pies, they might find that Circus is a bit too sweet.
