Philanthia flower shop is a truly unique spot that can be found not far from Vörösmarty Square, in Váci Street, the most elegant pedestrians and shopping street of Budapest. The shop opened in 1904, and it still operates with the original Art Nouveau interior and furnishing, while it had the same elegant storefront since the '30s.
The name of the store is pretty telling, as it spreads “the love of flowers”, while the display behind the Art Nouveau Venetian glass changes every season, showcasing moving figures and a sea of flowers providing a real spectacle. Besides the unique, varied bouquets, they also sell flowers individually, roses as tall as a meter, potted plants, handmade ornaments reminding of Christmases at the beginning of the past century, and also home decor pieces.
