Beach volleyball is a real summer sport, which only requires four people, a net, a ball, and some sandy surface. Just because Hungary is nowhere near an ocean, we can still play beach volleyball at any of these six spots in Budapest for spiking the ball barefoot.

BME Sports Center

The outdoor season of the sports center of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics lasts from April to October. Students of BME can play for 90 minutes for 1,500 forints, while outsiders pay double for the same time period.

Kispest Swimming Pool

The volleyball court, located next to the District XIX swimming pool operating since 1988, is a frequent venue for major tournaments. Amateurs, professionals, and casual athletes can all play here for 2,500 forints per hour. After playing, visitors can relax in the swimming pool or its wellness area.

Óbuda Leisure Park

We have double the chance to occupy a court on Laborc Street in District III , since there are two of them. However, it’s important to note that on weekends, the courts are open only until 3pm, for 2,700 forints per hour.

Holiday Beach Budapest sports field

We can try various beach sports at the hotel’s sports field, including soccer and handball, as well as beach volleyball. The court can be reserved for 2,600 forints per hour, even after dark, thanks to the electric lighting.

Budapest Sport Beach

The 52x32-square-meter courts of the popular and well-known Építők Sporttelep are perfect for beach sports. There’s lighting in the Homok Aréna as well, so we can stay late and play until we drop.
