The original songs from “
Liza, the Fox-Fairy
” - which won many international awards - make up the first Hungarian-Japan
surf
rock
movie score of the Hungarian music history. The composer is
Erik Sumo alias Ambrus Tövisházi
who listened to a lot of Asian pop music from the '60s in order to achieve the typical beat sounds. They paid special attention while doing the instrumentation and recordings to use authentic equipment: Neumann microphones, Ludwig drum set, and adequate guitar sounds. It is safe to say they could have made this record in Japan, 50 years ago.
Of course, the label of Budabeats couldn’t let the music of “Liza” to simply be released through mp3 files. Four chosen tracks made it to a vinyl: “Dance, Dance Have a Good Time” and “Doki Doki” on the A side are funky surf rock songs while on the B side there is “Forever (My Love)", which is a ballade with vocals from Liza (Mónika Balsai), and the funk-bomb “Funky Booeeiing”.
Erik Sumo arrives to Fogaskert with an exclusive, exotic DJ set to summon the typical styles of the ‘60s from the Far East to the Wild West. The hosts of Soul Cure will add +/- 10-20 years to the mix.
