Not every Budapest club starts out by signing five international acts for their first four weekends. The organizers couldn’t help but celebrate the opening of
Room 8
for a second time when they managed to score such a legend as
Ray Mang
.
On Saturday they’ll feature
Ray Mang
, a British disco DJ/producer boasting one of the longest careers, who will at least play a three-hour set to the audience’s delight. Mang cannot be accused of jumping on the disco bandwagon just for the hell of it, as we have to go as far back as 1996 to unearth his first release. Number One came out of nowhere, achieving major success and generating enough funds for Ray to establish Mangled Records, his own label, where he was free to bring out anything he wanted.

There is no need to list his releases, as they wouldn’t fit here, but it is important to note that he and his buddies from the
Glimmers
duo have made remixes for the likes of Freddie Mercury, Gorillaz, Friendly Fires, Crazy P, and Dimitri From Paris. Rest assured that his set will be full of strong disco classics, killer new tunes, Balearic opuses, and boogie-inducing
house
bombs.

Jaffa Surfa
, aka Zee, will be on warm-up duty before Ray Mang. He is not only an excellent DJ, but also one of the most successful Hungarian producers.

Did you think only Saturday would be worth checking out? You are mistaken. There is a twist: Friday will see the performances of residents Gensi and Bal 5000, and the audience will also find out what the
Room 8
vibe can bring out of Beta, one of Hungary’s most sought-after disc jockeys.
