After their debuting album in 2013, Curiosity, Wampire changed from a duo from Portland playing at house parties into a five member band, which has been all around the globe.
The off-kilter pop music of the band founded by Rocky Tinder and Eric Phipps is a speciality of a mix of paranoia and surrealism both in music and lyrics, which continuously has unexpected turns and flavours.
After returning home from a twelve-month tour of the first album, they two founders started writing a new album, because they could not let the creative energy gathered from the first tour go to waste. At the birth of the new material their hands were half led by Kafka; referring to the writer has been a habit of the band, but their bizarre and surreal selves had not been this present as in the new album.
Nine songs from Bazaar, published this October, were recorded on tape - the result is a variegated journey, starting from the hoarse riffs of "Bad Attitude", through the mysterious saxophone of "Wizard Staff", to the gorgeously catchy refrain of "The Amazing Heart Attack."
After a year spent in vans and airplanes, European clubs and Australian beaches, and a few months in the studio, Wampire is ready to show their new songs for the Hungarian audience on
7 December in Gozsdu Manó Klub.
