The audience in Budapest had the pleasure of seeing amazing British singer-songwriter Fink two years ago at
Sziget
. This time he returns with a club concert at
A38
, a platform probably more suitable for his intimate and personal songs, to promote his new album "Hard Believer", released over the summer. The one-time surprise figure of Ninja Tune, at the same time one of its most popular acts, Fink at A38!
Fifteen or even ten years ago, few of us would have thought that in a decade a fine
downtempo
artist-producer called Fin Greenall would achieve stunning success with personal, acoustic songs. In the ‘90s Greenall, aka Fink, was one of Ninja Tune’s artists who constructed elegant electronic sound collages onto characteristically slow hip-hop bases, a style accurately reflected in his first, 100% electronic album "Fresh Produce".

Then Fink suddenly became disillusioned with
electronic
music and DJing. He started to write real songs - one of which ended up with
Amy Winehouse
- and founded a band with two old friends,
Tim Thorton and Guy Whitaker
, producing Biscuits for Breakfast in 2006, which revealed a whole new world to the audience. Acoustic guitar sounds and chilled out, intimate songs, sometimes moving towards neo-soul, other times towards blues. Surprisingly, this record was also released by Ninja Tune, despite the fact that this new sound could not be further away from their profile. The album was a smash hit regardless, with the next record, containing one of Fink’s most popular tunes "This Is The Thing", produced by Andy Barlow from Lamb, topping even the previous hit. Then in 2011 came "Perfect Darkness", the prefect chill-out record that made both critics and audiences go weak in the knees.

Fink has become one of Ninja Tune’s most popular artists, and in 2012 he played a magical concert with one of the most well-known symphonic orchestras, Amsterdam’s Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, on Queen’s Day. The recording of the concert was released last year. Six months later came Fink’s latest album
"Hard Believer"
, which has garnered major praise, and will be promoted on a tour arriving in Budapest’s A38 in an intimate club concert.
