Opening the exhibition on the occasion of Óbuda Day:
Natália Szeifert

The exhibition is open until 10 June.

After last year’s
Budapest Noir exhibition
at the
Platán Library in Óbuda
, Kriszta
Németh
is presenting a new display of her work. Turning towards analogous photography, she showcases the smaller community of Óbuda – sometimes with the rawness of
documentaries
, other times in postcard-like compositions.

Due to the fact that the expired black-and-white Fortepan films have lost some of their sensitivity, the photos all have a light grey layer on them, which gives them a kind of archaic mood, making the places depicted almost timeless. The alternation of different style elements adds to this effect, trying to show us that we can be inside and outside at the same time: we can be spectators and participants of everyday life in Óbuda.
