“Perhaps our music is primitivist (their album from 2012 is titled “
Techno Primitivism
”) but we are not sure. I think that it tries to be clever sometimes. The thing is we started out from the roots of techno and house; we draw from the sounds of the end of the seventies and the beginning of the eighties – and not from what journalist call house or techno nowadays. Just like as the primitivists, who, at the beginning of the twentieth century, worked with materials and fabrics which did not meet the era’s late-romantic art ideal. It’s not about being funny or ironic.”
