Balkan Fanatic
was founded in 2002 and they had a clear goal even back then: to tear down the walls between genres and get the audience know a wide range of styles. Their music brings electronic elements to hip-hop while world-music motifs give the essence of it all. The producer duo of Yorgos and Lepe teams up with guests on their records and live shows; this is how they have songs featuring the Persian-Swedish star Arash (“Tike, Tike Kardi”) or Prophet, the popular rapper from Los Angeles (“Ha te tudnád…”). The Hungarian Music Awards winning formation brings Hungarian folk motifs into pop music in a way that guarantees that everything they make will be an instant hit. The multicultural band has six members at the moment; they released their “Csókolj meg Babám!” album last autumn, so they surely will play it at the carnival party on February 13. It’s OK to dress in costumes!
