Made from cork composite, Moonshades sunglasses are unique, flexible, and even float on the water – making them perfect shades for adventurous festivalgoers.

From the end of spring and the beginning of summer, sunglasses become must-have accessories, and while most of us have a favorite pair or two, it’s always nice to invest in a new pair. The Hungarian designers of Moonshades cork sunglasses fill a market niche by making sunglasses from a unique yet everyday material, cork composite, thus creating the perfect shades for festivals, water sports, or even rock climbing.

According to the Moonshades team, led by Hungarian graphic designer Gergő Bogányi, frames should be comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, durable, stylish, and eco-friendly, as well. While searching for the perfect material, they found cork composite, which turned out to be ideal because of its softness, unique texture and look, and being a renewable, recyclable material.

These sunglasses are almost twice as light as regular shades, and look pretty stylish with tinted lenses. Because of its material, it probably won’t break even if we sit on it, and will float instead of sinking in case it falls off our head while swimming at Lake Balaton.

Moonshades sunglasses are available in four different shapes (Atlas, Kasper, Cassini, and Moro) and with four different tinted lenses (Sienna Brown, Forest Gray, Silver Mirror, and Blue Mirror), and each package includes a lens-cleaning cloth, a hard case, and soft case, in addition to the glasses.
