Uránia National Film Theater

Uránia National Film Theatre, one of the most charming cinemas in town, is halfway between the Kiskörút (Small Boulevard) and the Nagykörút (Grand Boulevard). Built in 1894, it has Gothic, Renaissance, and, most notably, Moorish architectural elements – for a while, it was even called Alhambra. Its enormous, elegant auditorium provides a unique environment for movie screenings and it’s definitely a good choice for the premiere of the latest independent movie or a film festival. They often host themed film weeks, as well.
