Budapest’s Toldi Cinema has been standing strong since 1932, but obviously it had to go through a thorough renovation during the long passing years. The multifunctional building has become a lot more popular since 2008. Toldi is a true art cinema, featuring a small, but well thought out selection of films (generally screened with original language), while also functioning as a café, bar, and party place.
Toldi is truly popular in Budapest, and not only because people like to sip on a nice glass of white wine purchased at the bar while watching the movie, but also, the lovers of electronic music often spend the night here, and people also drop by in the afternoon for a coffee, just because the atmosphere is amazing. Toldi frequently hosts film festivals, and often show the diploma works of the students of the Werk Academy.
