The emblematic outlet for Hungary’s favourite fried-dough treat lángos at Arany János utca metro station has not only reopened, but levelled up quite a bit as well. Found right opposite the old locale, they have replaced the small kiosk with a spacious and cosy food bar. The former market atmosphere remains thanks to the open kitchen, where visitors can witness how this Hungarian classic is made in a more modern and comfortable way. The offers on the other hand have stayed the same, with a few added items, such as a goats’ cheese variety. There are both meaty and vegan versions, as well as lactose-free, sweet and stuffed options. And if there is still any place left in your stomach after the filling lángos, you can also order delicious pancakes in various flavours here. Grilled dishes, salads and French fries are also worth investigating.
