This small family canteen on Bérkocsis utca has been operating with the same set-up for decades: Erzsi’s the chef and Feri’s the waiter, a husband-and-wife team in life as well as in business. At Öcsi Étkezde, the flavours are homely and the prices are friendly – no wonder they have many regulars: it’s retro without being pretentious. The menu changes daily but the hot meat broth is a permanent item, a great pick-me-up for when you catch a cold. They also serve delicious duck gizzard stew every other week.
