The Kiscelli Museum satisfies the curiosity of visitors interested in the Modern Age history and fine art of Budapest. It is found in the building of a former baroque monastery and church in wooded park of Óbuda. Its permanent local history exhibitions showcase pieces of antique furniture, trade signs, blueprints, silverware, and contemporary photos, while the temporary exhibitions usually focus on the history of photography, fashion and sports. At the temporary exhibitions of the Municipal Gallery, the body responsible for managing the fine art collection of the museum, outstanding paintings, sculptures and installations by modern and contemporary Hungarian artists are on display, while their temporary exhibitions in the unique exhibition space of the ruin church focus on the artists of today. The museum and its surroundigs are ideal excursion spots. There is a hiking trail across the woods adjacent to the building, and you can also find the Kiscelli Calvary Stations, the Golgota Sculpture, and the Szent Vér Chapel here.
