Hadik

Hadik Café, found under Bartók Béla Boulevard 36, used to be the haunt of many prominent Magyar literary artists, such as Frigyes Karinthy, Dezső Kosztolányi, and Tibor Déry. The legendary Hadik Café slightly changed its name to just simply Hadik, and now awaits guests with a brand-new interior, menu, and plenty of programs. This means that the old golden walls were abandoned for bricks, and the old plush covers on the armchairs are now changed for vintage leather. The design is now a bit more modern, but the mission stays the same: they still aim at being the meeting point of Budapest’s artists.

The chef, Bálint Apor, – the former chef of the renowned Gundel Restaurant – reformed the whole selection of the kitchen, from snacks through burgers to classic main dishes. The meals can be perfectly paired with cocktails and local craft beers, and if we wish, we can even walk over to the adjoining Szatyor Bár and Gallery, as the wall between the two locales was removed.
