A kifőzde or local diner, Frici Papa has a countryside feel, in charming contrast to its neighbours, the cosmopolitan clubs and bistros of Király utca. This outlet is from a bygone era, but don’t let that put you off. One of its greatest advantages is its more than reasonable pricing. All the same, the food is of decent quality – if you choose from the daily offers, you might pay less than 1,000 forints, but you can also order from the menu. Do not expect a gourmet experience, but do expect homely flavours and quick service. At lunchtime, this spot is pretty busy, so don't be surprised if you have to share a table with strangers.
