Opened in the summer of 2012, Bors Gastrobar on Kazinczy Street is a real curiosity in Budapest. They deserve an A+ for their special soup-and-sandwich combinations, made of carefully selected ingredients. They cannot be truly compartmentalized: their daily-refreshed specials include soups and baguettes with unique flavoring, various vegetable stews, and pasta creations. A few of the Bors specials: coconut-chilli pumpkin-cream soup with roasted pumpkin seeds, ginger-blueberry forest-fruit soup with mandarin panna cotta; caramel-French mustard pheasant ragout soup; white wine-juniper potato stew; and the sandwiches Hambagett and French Lady. The latter is their most popular creation; it has rosemary red onion jam, spicy chicken breast and Emmenthaler cheese. Should we go on? Next time you’re in town, head to Bors!
