Babka, a restaurant, which is actually a “not-a-restaurant”, is found in Budapest’s charming Pozsonyi Street, in Újlipótváros. We wouldn’t like to reveal what this means, as they gladly explain their concept to everyone who asks. We can say as much that the name and logo are both inspired by an airy, melt in the mouth chocolate loaf from Jerusalem, and that they sneak special Arab, Israeli, Armenian, Turkish, and Georgian tastes in their repertoire. We can always drop by for a coffee or lemonade, and it is worthwhile to try different treats in the meantime. We can take a seat on the lovely terrace, or inside, in the vintage and cozy “living room”, where a huge community table foreshadows the aim of the restaurant: to become a community space.
