With the Sziget Eye earning international recognition as a Budapest landmark after spending most of 2014 whirling above Erzsébet Square, officials decide to turn it into a year-round attraction – but to increase visitors it will be moved to a riverfront location. Possible sites include the Danube Promenade, the Várkert Bazaar, or the middle of the Chain Bridge.

As new burger places like Zing, Black Cab, Jack’s Burger, and Attaboy continually thrive, a movement forms to make burgers one of the national dishes of Hungary alongside goulash and paprika chicken. Meanwhile, all three of Budapest’s Michelin-starred restaurants abandon their selections of haute cuisine to instead focus on creating burger degustation menus.

With the return of warm weather, Budapest’s recently popular selection of panoramic rooftop pubs increases dramatically, with new locations including the Royal Palace dome balcony, the top of Saint János Hospital, the Nyugati Station skylight, and atop new roofs that are built over rooftop pubs from last summer like 360 Bar, Gozsdu Sky Terrace, and Tip Top.

Taking advantage of the ever-increasing number of beer bikes that regularly traverse the streets of central Pest, public-transportation officials decide to save money by eradicating trolley lines 70 and 78 and instead compel the beer-bike companies to pick up passengers along the same routes. Not a single passenger affected by this change complains about it.

As “escape room” puzzles continue drawing tourists from around the planet, city officials decide to dominate the business by transforming the entirety of Margaret Island into one gigantic challenge zone, with visitors not allowed to return to Buda or Pest until after they solve a series of riddles and quizzes, and then complete several extreme obstacle courses.
