Hegyalja Festival
By any chance, you are in Hungary in the second weekend of July, head for the eastern part of the country where you find the Tokaj-Hegyalja Festival nearby the River Tisza bank in the world famous heritage site, the home of Tokaji Aszú wine. It is better if you are a bit alternative and like electric rock and punk music. Including tickets, food and drink, prices are the lowest here. All Hungarian music bands appear during the festival, and some well-known foreign groups play some music as well. In addition, it is a real adventure to camp on the river bank. If you are there, you must visit a local vineyard and taste some of the specialties made with aszú wine.

Volt Festival
In the beginning of July, you had better go west to the most remote corner of the country. Admire the beauty of Lake Fertő, eat some fish soup in Fertőrákos and then drop in Lővér campsite in Sopron for a long weekend and enjoy the music of different world-famous artists and groups. Volt Festival has been organized for 18 years and for today, it is one of the most important summer program attracting huge crowds. Hip-hop, electro, rock and pop music can live in peace here. It is worth having a short visit to Sopron where thousands of young people make great profit for the city. Watch out with taxis! They have higher prices during the festival. Volt Festival is a little expensive anyway. However, music, unforgettable atmosphere and products of the wine-district of Sopron make all your sorrow go away and bring you back next year.

EFOTT
In the end of July, while looking for some surprise, visit the national meeting of university and college students, shortly called EFOTT. You do not worry, there are no lessons or lectures, EFOTT Festival is open for anybody. The location of the festival changes yearly, it is always a surprise. There are some foreign groups and many Hungarian bands appearing on this event.

Balaton Sound Festival
Sunbathing, Lake Balaton, cocktails, electric rhythm, disco tents and girls in bikinis. This is Zamárdi, the Balaton Sound festival. Does it sound good enough? If your answer is YES then take M7 highway all the way long to Zamárdi, one and a half hour from Budapest. This is the top of all festivals with trendy crowd and world stars like Underworld, Massive Attack, Röyksopp and David Guetta.
