Not all trends are fattening or bad for our teeth – it is nice to see that more and more people in Budapest are getting into yoga, which soothes both the body and the soul. There are numerous studios in the city where yoga enthusiasts can practice, and some of these classes are held at especially interesting locations – for example, on top of buildings. We recommend these three options.

Yoga and breakfast on top of the city at 360 Bar

Yoga brunch above the clouds: this is the official description of the yoga program held at 360 Bar. The event is combined with drinking and eating, as well: the organizers offer cucumber-y refreshments during the class, and at the end, we can stay and eat a 360 breakfast. In addition to the menu, the bar provides omelets, cold fruit soup, lemonades, and freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juices for those attending the program, while the unique atmosphere is scored by a live DJ set to inspire the participants. Fee: 1,500 forints, with 500 forints of that going toward food and drink purchases.

Balance on top of a department store at Corvintető

One of the most popular rooftops of the city is, of course, a must-try location. Corvintető’s yoga class for beginners advertises itself with the slogan “Find your balance above the city”, for a price of 1,300 forints. (Incidentally, they consider this a “donation”, so if someone is unable to pay the admission fee, they will not be sent away.) The only drawback is the limited capacity of 20 people, although the atmosphere is also quite homey because of this. Participants must register in advance, and information about these events is available of the Facebook page of Corvintető. However, it is important to note that participants are required to bring their own yoga mat, towel and water. We heard a lot of good things about these classes, mainly because they do not concentrate on the esoteric/meditation stuff too much – everything is simple and clear, and the trainers are rather professional, as well.
