4am is a magical time in Budapest, when many clubs and pubs close, but a committed crew head on to find more adventure, instead of stumbling home. For those who want to continue on even as the sun rises, this is your guide to the deepest lairs of the rabbit hole: bars that never close, clubs where the music never stops, and food places that are open even around 6am. If you think that Budapest finds time to sleep, you are mistaken! This city NEVER sleeps.

Half ruin pub - half dance club; the founders of Instant took the best of each and created something truly unique. You can be the queen of the dance floor, who shakes her hips to the hottest club tunes, but if you want to forget about something and get wasted with your friends, well, the bar(tender)s have all the alcoholic beverages to take you down rabbit hole. With six halls, all with different functions - cafeteria, ruin pub, disco, underground dance club etc - you'll surely find something to your liking. This enchanted forest of Budapest's ruin pub scene and bars closes its doors 6am, and reopens them around 4pm, so you have quite a lot of time to get lost in Instant. As for food, they have tasty hamburgers and french fries.

Underground above the city! If you are a fan of electro music - be it trap, dubstep, moombahton, techno, house or something else , well, then this place is absolutely for you! The most well-known Hungarian DJs spin the vinyls, the bartender girls are pretty, the place is usually open until 5am - what else can you ask for? A beautiful panorama, maybe? Well, during the hot summer days, their rooftop terrace functions too - and on those days, you can really feel you're having the time of your life, just above Budapest. If you are up for some snacks, go for the grilled sandwiches.

Cheerio

Cheerio is just a shot away from the Mammut Shopping Mall, so it's a good option if you are in the mood for some post-film drinks. During long cold nights the alcohol keeps you warmed up and the place is open until the metro starts functioning again - the Széll Kálmán Square metro station is just a short walk from here. But the real reason why everybody keeps coming back here is that it's cheap as hell - a shot of pálinka costs 120 HUF, for example. It literally costs no money to get drunk here.

Crazy Mama Music Pub

Well, the name pretty much says it all: a place to rock out and get wild, a club where great Hungarian rock 'n' roll bands play and after them, you can dance to the greatest hits until 5am. A great riff will always get you through the night, but if not, have a beer or a whisky - believe us, it helps.

Piaf

Piaf is characterised by a curious atmosphere, so it is certainly not for everyone, though they probably know a well-kept secret – they've been operating since 1985. Part of their success is probably that they do non-stop night clubbing: sometimes the place is open until 8am. Another secret to their success could be that you probably won't leave this place alone. Most importantly: do they have the alcohol to fuel a party-goers fire? Of course! So what are you waiting for?

Food: Snacks, chips, sandwiches

Király Street’s Kuplung is a real curiosity and an underground shrine. Drink discounts are frequent here, along with sports broadcasts, parties, live bands, and people of all styles and ages. Cutting-edge fashion meets with lo-fi aesthetics here, urban art is mixed with punkish vibes and the sound quality is just great. If you are interested to see just what a car repair shop ('kuplung' means clutch) can turn into in Budapest, jump in sometime. Remember, the place is open until 5am and offers very good toasted sandwiches for hungry ravers.

Excellent wines, quality beers on tap, tasty treats - Mika Tivadar Mulató is a den of delicious drinks, arts and culture. Not a surprise, then, that it is really popular amongst young Budapestian pub-hoppers, especially on Friday and Saturday, when Mika stays open even after 4am just to host those who are in need of some alcohol. Of course, if you want to act like a failed intellectual (drinking Vermouth all night and reading), well, you can do that here too.

Dürer-kert is one of the most popular clubs in Budapest, due to it's youthful and welcoming atmosphere and for hosting all kinds of events: concerts, DJ-sets, tattoo festivals and so on. If there is a hard/metalcore band playing in Budapest, there is a high chance that it will play here. Although Dürer-kert is kind of far from most of the other clubs in Budapest, it surely worth the trip for its unique interior design, famous bartenders and good vibrations. The place is open until 5am, so you have plenty of time to drop by.
