Those who pay attention to the independent music of the new millennium are sure to know the name of
Xiu Xiu
. The one-man project of
Jamie Stewart
has constantly been present in the experimental pop scene since its start around the millennium; he bombed the lovers of experimental music with many crazy albums full of artistic encroachments.

The oeuvre of the musician, who mixes amplitudes,
noises
, and deep
emotional
charges into consumable forms, is so long that it is very difficult to summarize. Stewart referred to
Nick Cave
,
Robert Smith
, and
Morrissey
, and already published nine studio albums, connected merely by their peculiarly excitable mood, the restless cross-genre galloping, and the often hard-to-digest compositions. The
protoelectronics
, expressive guitar play and sorrowful vocal themes result in colorfully rich music, which is undoubtedly Xiu Xiu’s own. That is why the discography will be full of things waiting to be discovered, and why it is so hard to get bored of Stewart’s personality even after all these years.

The musician, who has worked together with Deerhooff, Merzbow, and the Swans, provides a disturbingly positive
experience
live as well, as his songs floor the audience with even more intensity. Fortunately,
Xiu Xiu
will target our capital on the 5th of November once again, in the company of a few clicking drums and whiny vocals.
