In late November, leaders and scientists from around the world will gather in Budapest to address the urgent need for new and efficient solutions for sustainable water management. Only 3% of
the planet’s water reserve
is suitable for human consumption, and a big part of this supply is difficult or impossible to access, while climate change also has a huge impact on the available water resources. In anticipation of this event, the
Robert Capa International Photography Center
 is holding a
photo and video competition
to provide opportunities for those who would like to submit a photo or motion-picture documentation with messages related to the theme. The submitted photographs and videos should represent the importance of water to our planet, to nature, to society, and to individuals. Click

The winners of the contest will be announced at a public awards ceremony on October 15th at the
Capa Center
, when the successful entries will be awarded with prizes including Leica D-Lux cameras, alongside vouchers of various values. Entries that receive rankings spanning from first to tenth place in each category will be exhibited at the
Hungarian House of Photography (Mai Manó Ház)
 during autumn 2016.

Submitted artworks will be presented throughout the event, and from 8pm the Hungarian indie-garage rock band
Ivan & the Parazol
entertains guest with a free concert performance.
