The
Budapest English Theatre
presents Martin McDonagh’s multi-award winning play,
The Pillowman
, on
June 17th
. In McDonagh’s dark comedy a man is arrested and interrogated about a series of short stories that bear a striking resemblance to a series of local child murders. He denies knowledge of the crimes, but is he innocent?
After two shows played to capacity audiences the performance, directed by Virginia Proud, returns one more time to
Vallai Kert,
with selected scripts, a fully rehearsed performance, and audio visual backdrop. For the audience, all that’s missing is the set.
Budapest English Theatre
is a collaboration of international drama artists founded in 2012, with the aim of creating quailty English theatre in Budapest. Their focus is on contemporary plays, including Hungarian plays in translation. At the moment, they do not have a home theater, but work with various venues in
Budapest
, and tour across borders, too.
