The
Screen Memories Film Festival
will be organized to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the 1989
regime changes
in Eastern Europe. During the four days of the festival and the subsequent
conference
at Eötvös Loránd University, the organizers wish to pose the question: how has motion-picture media contributed to the picture we have in our heads of the past in terms of state socialism?
The schedule includes
feature films and documentaries
which, apart from a few exceptions, have never been distributed in Hungary. The unique selection is meant to highlight the different motivations behind creating very different motion picture records in the various countries.
All films at the festival will be screened in their
original language
, with English subtitles and Hungarian audio, unless otherwise stated.
