The biopic of Ray Charles is being screened at the Bem Cinema on 5 May. Born in a poor town in Georgia, Ray (Jamie Foxx) went blind at the age of seven shortly after witnessing the accidental death of his younger brother. Inspired by his liberated mother, Charles found his calling behind a piano keyboard. He gained quick reputation during his first performances, then gained worldwide fame, pioneering a unique style, a blend of gospel, country and jazz. The movie is screened in English with Hungarian subtitles.
