There have been many changes around
photography
in the past decade or so, and photography itself has changed, too. The making of pictures and their presentation has a whole new nature (let’s call it the digital shift), which is not simply a technical change; this new turn will probably reinterpret the whole medium.
The generation that grew up in the past one and a half decades has tertiary qualification and international relations, and they barely have anything to do with the Hungarian photography traditions. Spontaneous creativity is present on the internet with an unbelievable intensity; artists can discuss the new dimensions and pitfalls of visuality more clearly - and also in a culturally more embedded way; they can engage with meaning more bravely. This
exhibition
will display numerous pieces - besides photographs – on screens or in space, that were made with new or old materials and techniques – with the aim of making people ponder.
