The
exhibition Ongoing h/Histories
– similarly to the exhibition entitled “
Our Holocaust
”, which also took place at the Studio Gallery – investigates how young artists, the representatives of the third generation approach certain parts and episodes of the 20th century. The exhibition seeks an answer to the following questions: Why is history, and processing and reflecting to the inherited past so relevant to young artists? What kind of artistic strategies do these artists use, and what are the artists’ role in this? Which episodes of history are so recent that they cannot be discussed yet, and which are too distant to relate to? Where is the barrier between history and our own personal experiences? Is it relevant to talk about a general, collective experience of this generation?
