This season
Concerto Budapest
has taken on the task of painting a comprehensive picture of
European
music in the
20th-21st centuries
through two program series (New Dimensions, Concerto Open), allowing the audience to learn about contemporary trends. At 19:30 on March 25, at the final event of the New Dimension series in the Great Hall of the
Liszt Academy of Music
, concertgoers will be able to listen to a selection of works by French conductor and composer Pierre Boulez, who turns 90 this year.
Despite the fact that Boulez had an exceptionally huge influence on the music of the second half of the 20th century, his colourful repertoire is hardly known by the Hungarian audience – most of his pieces have not been played in Hungary ever. At this upcoming concert three of his pieces from different periods of his career (
Rituel, Incises, Sur Incises
) will be performed. The orchestra will be conducted by
Zoltán Rácz
.
