Inspired by Rimsky-Korsakov’s one-act opera, the play by Peter Shaffer and the feature film Amadeus by Miloš Forman, this concert at the Franz Liszt Music Academy features works by both Mozart and Salieri. While Wolfgang Amadeus was acknowledged as a genius from a very young age, Salieri was also a great composer. The special feature of the evening is that the great Lithuanian virtuoso violinist Julian Rachlin (pictured) not only plays the concert in G major to introduce the evening, but also conducts the Hungarian National Philharmonic.
