Katalin Káldi’s works from the past two years radiate purpose and energy. The tranquility of simple objects in front of rich pastel colors is now replaced by elements racing above yellow and red backgrounds. The dynamics of geometric spatial bodies vibrating above the homogeneous base colors give the sensation of an expanding space. The tension of her works is mainly in that while she inspects the quality of colors and shapes with the classic techniques of painting, she also creates schematic spatial figures that suggest a functionality that is somewhat alien to the genre.
