The National Gallery, continuing its series of exhibitions presenting key figures in Hungarian fine art, now displays the paintings of modernist Dezső Korniss. The 110th anniversary of the artist’s birth calls for a display that examines his work from a new, unique perspective. The exhibition showcases his different painterly periods, along with his favourite themes and techniques, such as provincial art, folk art and rural craftsmanship. The display numbers almost 200 Korniss paintings, many of which were procured from private collections and are now being presented to the public for the first time.
