What is '
Alternative Budapest
'? The pictures show typical venues in Budapest, sprinkled with emblematic elements of pop culture (sometimes even blockbuster movies). Here is a Tyrannosaurus walking across the Liberty Bridge, there is a gigantic Super Mario on top of the houses along the Danube, jellyfish fly around at Gellért Square, or in one of KoPé’s more popular pictures, The Beatles make their way across a street at Keleti Railway Station.
"I could not tell you what this genre is. One part of these works react to events around us rather quickly. Or I could say, they are works that comment on yesterday…” – said esthetician András Réz at the opening of the exhibition at the Marriott.
